A strong darkish red colour with an initial crisp almost bitey sensation on first tasting, this proved a popular accompaniment to a red meat dinner.
The 18 months maturation in French oak showed through in the rather complex body of the wine and its fine balance of berry flavours and light tannins. The initial taste sensation gave way to a more elegant and smooother feel which caused everyone to ask for more please.
I have no doubt that this wine will cellar well for quite a few more years. My only complaint is that I have no more bottles to enjoy.
